The Issue
Educational gaps start long before elementary school. Many young children don't have regular access to books, early math experiences, or English language exposure. Their families may face barriers like cost, language differences, or lack of nearby enrichment programs.
As a result, by the time they enter Kindergarten they often start behind in vocabulary, early reading, and basic math skills, despite being just as capable as their peers. This can hurt their confidence and their long-term learning performance.
Our Solve
Fremont Learning Lab is a free, play-based program that helps children ages 3-5 build strong foundations in early literacy, English language, and math before Kindergarten. It is led and taught by High School volunteers where we host 1 hour drop-in sessions a few times a week at accessible locations like libraries, recreation centers, or elementary/pre schools.
Our Learning Lab Pillars
Our program is built around four core pillars that guide every session and keep learning balanced and intentional. Together, these pillars make sure kids who come to Fremont Learning Lab participate in a fun and structured way.

Early Literacy
Our Early Literacy builds the foundations in reading so students can understand, express themselves, and feel confident when they start school.
